Associate (Intellectual Property / Patent)
**Well established law firm in Brooklyn is looking for an Associate dealing with Patents to join their Intellectual Property Department.**
**The Associate will be responsible to action department specific litigation and/or commercial instructions independently;
achieve set revenue target;
manage client relationships independently;
be responsible for marketing of own practice and provide legal training for other junior colleagues by investing in own personal development**
**Minimum requirements**:
- LLB degree
- Qualifying Technical Degree
- Must be an Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 3 - 5 years' post articles experience which must include patent drafting experience
- PEB and/or SAIIPL completion (full or in part)
- Patent Examination Board Completion
- Must have extensive practice specific understanding of IP Law
- Will sometimes be required to work overtime
- Understand how to influence people positively
- Understand the systems, rules and practice directives in Courts or other relevant tribunals/ institutions
- Understand how a law firm functions with business principles
- Understand Intellectual Property principles
- Excellent drafting skills for agreements and patents
- Upselling and cross selling skills
