**Job Summary**:
Currently we have an exciting career opportunity for a **Business Unit Manager - Mergers &
Acquisitions** within Aon Commercial Risk Solutions’ Financial Services Group (“FSG”). This position will be located on a hybrid basis in Sandton.

**What the day will look like**:
**Management responsibilities**
- Responsible for managing a service area or a business area or a service centre.
- Responsible for driving operational efficiencies and business changes to ensure business unit objectives are met.
- Contributes to the operational change strategies.
- Manages the delivery of services.
- Ensures compliance / regulatory requirements are adhered to
- Management responsibility for a team of client facing-, administration
- and claims staff, and ensuring high standards of client service are efficiently and compliantly met
- Responsible for a portfolio of client accounts (will be larger and more complex accounts or key clients at this level) and manages and co-ordinates all related activities including building a “client profile” of risks and needs analysis.
- Structures an insurance programme to meet client needs including producing policy documentation, leading or contributing to renewal meetings and leading or renewing fee negotiation.
- Responsible for the day to day running of Client’s risk and insurance programmes and producing documentation when required (for more complex/valuable accounts)
- Attends and contributes to client meetings acting as the “expert” on all client service activities (for more complex/valuable accounts).
- Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa.
**Mergers &
Acquisitions responsibilities**
- Advise clients and colleagues on the insurability of warranty &
indemnity risks and other contingent risks in M&
A and private equity transactions and structure appropriate transaction insurance solutions
- Analyze transaction documents and due diligence reports
- Prepare documentation required to approach the market for insurance terms
- Analyze insurance terms, prepare summaries and negotiate the policy terms with underwriters
- Manage the overall transaction and underwriting process
- Engage and cooperate with the wider AMATS team in respect of the broader value proposition for clients
- Pro-actively build and maintain client and advisory relationships

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Qualifications, Skills and experience that will lead to success**:
**Qualifications.**
- Grade 12. (Matric).
- Law degree. Another academic activity will be valued.
- A relevant tertiary insurance related qualification will be advantageous
- Registration with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS ACT within 12 months
- Registration as an associate with the IISA within 12 months
**Knowledge.**
- Have a working knowledge of risk analysis methodologies.
- Have a good understanding of the applicable legislative environment governing the insurance industry.
- Extensive knowledge of Mergers &
Acquisitions and Warranty &
Indemnity risk
- Have the ability to review high level financial statements
- Legal/tax or environmental background
**Skills and Attributes.**
- A trusted relationship manager who can leverage existing network to expand AMATS’ Transaction Solutions coverage universe and drive new business
- Credibility and gravitas with senior leaders e.G., senior partners in law firms
- Have established relationships in top tier law or audit firms
- Ability to work well as part of an open and collaborative international team
- Eloquent, personable and willing to meet clients/prospective clients and their advisors to explain our offering
- An ability to understand the product and articulate it to the layman
- Be a proactive business developer and can build relationships with law firms, corporates and financial sponsors
- Engage with underwriters, in both the value aspects and commercial
- Written and oral business proficiency in English
- Well-developed team management skills
- Developed team functioning skills
- Good interpersonal relationships.
