**Introduction**:
We are looking to recruit a permanent Capacity and Logistics Planning Manager to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Cape Town branch and will report to the Head of Operations and Supply Chain.
**Job description**:
**Job Purpose**:
To develop and execute our Supply Chain sourcing, demand planning and replenishment strategies and develop the critical internal collaborative work processes (S&
OP) with the right systems to ensure we have the right products at the right time.
**Key Performance Areas**:
- Assemble and develop a high calibre team of Demand Planners and Replenishment experts to meet the dynamic needs of our business and brand with a service mindset.
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation (buying, Sales, DCs etc.) to ensure your success.
- Develop the critical internal collaborative work processes (S&
OP) and interact with key stakeholders at a high level on collaborative business planning, forecasting and replenishment to ensure availability.
- Drive best practice demand management which includes monitoring actual demand and forecasts in line with corporate financial goals at the supplier, product and customer level.
- Determine the processes required to ensure optimal stock levels across our portfolio of products including determining right supply chain for the right product across the logistics network.
- Create the right reporting and metrics to ensure goals are attained and the organisation is well informed at all times of inventory levels.
- Identify along with the IT team, the required forecasting and replenishment systems to support our needs. Champion the improvement, implementation, deployment and integration within the organisation.
- Manage all phases of new product introduction including initial forecasts, sourcing and tracking after launch.
- Recognise potential issues, develop solutions when problems are identified and communicate effectively with key stakeholders in the organisation.
- To develop a strategic budget for Sales, Margin and Stock and align annual financial plans with the business unit’s financial plans.
- Responsible for ensuring forward visibility on Distribution Centre capacity and volume planning including stock holding, storage and throughput requirements - inbound and outbound capacity planning for all DC’s to ensure capacity never exceeded.

**Minimum requirements**:
**Education and Qualification**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Science/Engineering Essential
- Honours/Master’s degree desirable
**Minimum experience required to do the job**:
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant management experience within a Supply Chain/Retail planning environment
- At least 8 years’ people management experience
- 5 years’ vendor management experience including contract negotiation
- 5 years’ commercial experience including accountability for large budgets
