Reviewing the claim requests and effectively managing the assignment, collaborating with various teams across the operations group and ensuring proper execution. Setting up the instructions within our claims platform that would trigger actions from our transcription, contents valuation and projects teams. Ensuring all teams understand what is expected to deliver within defined services levels.
Being a true expert of our claim handling process to ensure quality output to the fullest.
Ownership of claim files from intake through delivery, with focus on quality and cycle time
Manages all tasks and actions necessary to complete a successful claim assignment.
Responds appropriately and professionally to all involved.
Effectively understand all requirements for specific claim handling and offer solutions to right-size the assignment.
Adheres to all applicable service levels
Work closely with Management and Brokers
Assists with special projects assigned by Insurer
Acting as a liaison and first point of contact for the Office of Risk Management and providing exemplary customer service
Coordinating building inspections with insurance surveyor
Supporting the insurance claim function, including providing initial direction, information collection and billing support
Executing requests for certificates of insurance
Processing of claims
Ability to professionally engage with Broker and Assessors
Administering of claims from initiation to finality
Negotiating claims settlements

Significant experience using database systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
Experience working within accounts payable/accounts receivable systems.
Effective organisational skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with confidential data and keep information private.
Experience providing prompt and courteous customer service in responding to requests for information or assistance with solving problems.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external customers (such as faculty, staff, students, and insurance companies) in a diverse environment.
Significant experience with accounts payable/accounts receivable systems or similar financial system
Experience working in an insurance setting or knowledge of insurance generally, including working with an insurance broker or carrier.
Previous experience in the short term space is essential (personal lines or commercial)
Sound understanding of underwriting
Must be computer literate - MS Office
Data capturing / scanning / filing
