Commercial Executive Manufacturing
Durban North, Durban - Kwa Zulu Natal - South Africa
Reporting to the MD you will be required to ensure that the commercial objectives of the business are managed and the commercial strategy is developed and delivered per the requirements of the business.
You will be responsible for the strategic management of the Commercial Team which includes Estimating, Procurement, Stock Management, as well as Supplier and Commercial Contracts and Tenders. Further to this, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Company commercial procedures and corporate governance requirements, reporting on working capital and work in progress, managing business risk and maximising margins.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management Cost Accounting.
- At least 4 - 5 years experience in a similar role with a medium to large organisation with experience in estimating management, financial analysis, economics, business processes reporting and documenting.
- Manufacturing industry experience essential
- Project Management skills.
- Advanced Excel with Macro

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Play a strategic role in analysing pricing models
- Evaluate, align and develop competitive estimating standards which accurately reflect production capabilities as well as outwork suppliers
- Responsible for strategic procurement to ensure budgeted material percentage is achieved.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, terms and rebates with suppliers and manage key supplier performance to ensure that delivery dates meet required expectations.
- Responsible for service level agreements.
- Management of raw material stock and WIP in line with budgets including effective management of obsolete stock.
- Maintain sufficient stock levels to meet customer sales orders and manage re-orders
- Conduct analyses on throughput sales and material usage by product
- Analyse job costs consumable usage, stock write-offs and transport costs to turnover monthly and compares to the monthly income statement
- Responsible for margin reports and material percentage reports.
- Review key elements of current contracts to ensure compliance with pricing.
- Build and maintain an effective contract and tender process ensuring the accurate and competitive pricing of contract and tender calculations.
- B.E.E. Scorecard - Enterprise and Supplier Development
- Provide accurate and timely reports and information to all relevant parties.
