Instrumentation Technician, where you will be responsible to provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel proactively on complex mechanical systems, equipment and processes to continuously enhance plant performance and availability

**Kumba Iron Ore**
We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects - exploration;
mining;
processingand blending;
shipping;
marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
**Job Description**:
- This is a key role within the Asset Strategy &
Reliability where you will be responsible to:
- Identify specific risks within working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/system to avoid these risks.
- Overall infrastructure is inspected, and any deviations are reported
- Assistance is provided proactively or when requested by maintenance personnel
- Components causing excessive downtime are identified and permanent solutions are found and implemented
- Build, manage and maintain healthy relations with stakeholders to Technical Standards. Translates knowledge into meaningful input to projects and operations to enhance business performance.
- Contribute to the development of the Department budget
- Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and either address these, or raise them with your supervisor, as appropriate
**This role is in the Asset Strategy &
Reliability department in Plant Engineering &
HME at a Band 7 level, reporting to the Section Engineering Manager.**
**Qualifications
- You will need the following**:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- National Diploma (Electrical Engineering)
- A2 Safety Training
- Code 08 Drivers Licence
**Experience**:
- Advance eexperience of Siemens S7 PLC
- Advance experience of SCADA systems
- Experience in the installation, testing and maintenance of existing C&
I automation technology
- Project management experience in and development of new technology
- Valid Fitness for Duty certificate
