- Gauteng- Distribution and Planning Manager- Purpose of the Role:
- The purpose of the role is to maintain the current performance and make recommendations to improve distribution performance in line with the departmental strategic objectives by increasing productivity and reducing costs while focusing on efficiency of resources.- Duties:
- Warehouse management:
- Ensure inventory records on accounting system are accurate at all times, by ensuring that all stock movements are appropriately recorded and captured into Syspro.- Cycle counts of responsible warehouses once a week- Ensure stock rotation is done properly as per works instruction- Distribution management:
- Manage daily distribution planning.- Optimal use of delivery structures - planning, routing, vehicles.- Recommend &
implement the use of best practice distribution technologies &
practices.- Deliveries must be sent out on or before required dates- Vehicle management:
- Control and maintain distribution vehicles.- Fuel usage management, Report on CPK/vehicle- Incident reporting and prevention - breakdowns, hijackings, accidents.- Human Resource Management:
- Training and Development- Review WIs &
SW’s and ensure training is implemented- Attendance- Manage overtime of distribution personnel-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment essential.- Managing of routes for own distribution fleet- Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Syspro software.- Managing of driver’s timetable and employees reporting to your structure.- Competencies:
