Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Conduct EHS assessments to identify risks and improvement opportunities, including environmental Aspect and Impact assessments
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and standards through regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits
- Train employees on EHS policies, procedures, and practices, including induction and refresher training
- Ensuring all health and safety applicable legal appointments are documented, issued, signed and maintained on record, with periodic updates as and where necessary
- Investigate accidents and incidents, submit investigation reports, and document and report near misses and injuries as required
- Documenting and maintaining a training and skills matrix for all health and safety related training
- Inspection and spot checks of the onsite fire fighting / detection equipment. Ensure that all Fire detection systems and fire extinguishers are serviced, maintained and in a state of readiness at all times
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and communicate any emergencies to the necessary emergency organisations
- Conduct safety meetings and communicate safety-related information to employees
- Report incidents to Department of Labour by completing the relevant WCL documents
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum:
National Diploma in Safety Management / Environmental Management (NQF 6)
- SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification is advantageous
- 3-5 years’ experience as a EHS Officer or related role within a manufacturing / production environment is essential for this role
- Proficient in all Microsoft Applications Page 2 of 2
- Previous experience with Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) is essential
- Must have ISO14001 &
ISO45001 experience
- Good understanding of relevant legislation.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- EHS internal auditing experience
- Problem-solving with a solutions-driven mindset
- Ability to work in a pressured and deadline-driven operating environment
**Salary**:
R300,000.00 per year
