Esg Analyst

A top SA Investment house has a vacancy within their **Responsible Investment** team for a senior investment resource to contribute to the firm’s Responsible Investment Stewardship initiative.
The position requires an individual who has the knowledge and passion for ESG/sustainability issues, as well as investment processes across different asset classes.
**Key Functions**:
- Utilise research and analysis of ESG practices and thematic ESG issues to drive a Responsible Investment stewardship strategy for companies;
- Diligently recordproxy voting decisions and company engagements;
- Manage the reporting of Responsible Investment stewardship activities;
- Prepare ESG research and materials for internal use, as well as external use for media, clients and consultants;
- Contribute to thefirm’s ESG approach, policies and practices;
- Review reporting as required in respect of CRISA and UNPRI.
**Key Requirements**:
- Deep passion for Responsible Investment/ESG with the ability to influence change in companies’ ESG practices;
- 7 years’ experience in ESG, Investment Analysis or Corporate Governance;
- Recent/current experience in investment management, ESG advisory services or corporate sustainability will be an advantage;
- Post-Grad qualification in investments, corporate governance, law, sustainability or corporate finance - CFA Level 1 or higher would be an advantage;
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills;
- Deep understanding of responsible Investment (UN PRI, CRISA, Reg 28) and sustainability issues;
- Ability to work independently, undertake proprietary ESG research and analysis, share thought leadership and manage colleagues when required;
- Excellent writtenand oral communication skills;
- Experience with project management.
