Responsibilities
Procurement.
Insurance.
HR Duties.
Accounting and Tax.
Filing and management of files.
Manage staff accommodation.
Transporting people to and from the airport when necessary.
Provide all necessary assistance and work to all relevant parties associated with the farm to ensure the smooth operation of the daily administrative activities on the farm.
Perform all relevant administration work required by the employer including reporting to the accountant of the employer.
Purchasing supplies and/or materials for farm equipment, ordering stock, performing any duty that aids the staff on the farm, collecting fuel for the generators, etc.
Liaising and contracting with third parties to perform services on the farm and/or deliver goods to the farm.
Liaise with relevant governing bodies.
Tending to Mrs. Holland’s (owner’s wife) personal needs.
Aid in household affairs such as taking the staff of the farm shopping and/or transporting staff of the farm.
Any other reasonable tasks that the employer may request from time to time.
The employee will be employed on a probation basis for the first 3 months of employment to determine whether he/she possesses the necessary skills, personality, and motivation to perform the tasks to a satisfactory level.
Remuneration and Working Hours
The remuneration package will be finalized in the final interview, and reviewed annually based on performance and merit. Annual increases are not guaranteed.
Working hours are from 08:
30 to 17:
00, Monday to Friday.
A light lunch will be provided.
The employee is entitled to a lunch break of 60 minutes per day. The employer will indicate when such lunch break may be taken.
An annual performance bonus may be awarded during the birthday month of the employee, depending on personal performance and provided that the bonus, as well as the amount of the bonus, is not guaranteed and is solely at the discretion of the employer.
The working hours are determined by operational requirements and the employer reserves the right to change its composition.
Time off will be mutually agreed between the employer and employee to suit the operational requirements of the farm.
Leave
All applicable leave (annual, sick, and family responsibility) will be based on and applied as per Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA.)
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 with at least 3 years of relevant Farm Management experience.
Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
Strong organisational skills and teamwork.
Attention to detail and excellent time management.
Effective communication with people of various backgrounds.
Farming experience is advantageous, but not required.
Sober habits, no criminal record and must have a respectful, yet assertive demeanour (integrity).
