**EDGE Education is looking for Fin-Man graduates to join our dynamic team! As a content developer you’ll sit at the heart of our production process, creating and evaluating content in various forms - from traditional authoring and academic reviewing, to instructional design tasks.**
Education level:
NQF 7 SAICA accredited B Com in Financial Accounting or related degree (with Accounting, Taxation, Financial Management, Auditing and Cost and Management Accounting at 3rd year level) or higher
Seniority level:
Junior
The role requires the following:
- Create, review, rework (which may include rewriting and rearranging), quality assure (QA) and/or moderate deliverables, including:
- Chapters/units - Study guides - Assessments (exercises, corresponding solutions, and case studies) and quizzes - Scripts - Storyboards - Built elements - Digital CourseBooks (ELEx) - Blackboard modules
- Research topics and source academically relevant content, including images in order to effectively develop content.
- Ensure alignment between content and stipulated outcomes.
- Create custom academic figures to visually illustrate or compliment content
- Map digital assets to complement textbook content.
- Collaborate with relevant staff and/or teams to create multimedia educational content.
- Provide constructive feedback and clear direction to authors, peers, video editors, learning technologists and layout designers upon completion of QA/review/moderation.
- Effect changes based on peer and client feedback.
- Assist with departmental administrative tasks, e.G. mapping document checks, icon downloads, database updates, scanning textbooks, where necessary.
- Follow departmental processes, e.G. time tracking, saving out files in the correct locations, remaining up-to-date with all team communications, etc.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, updating and improvement of all guides, templates and processes.
- Remain up to date on, and strictly adhere to, all guides, templates and processes.
- Liaise professionally with external freelancers/authors when providing them with assistance or feedback on projects.
- Resolve internal and external queries related to content.
- Participate in initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in the department and/or organisation.
- Prepare for and constructively participate in meetings with clients, if and when needed.
- Perform any duties as requested from time-to-time by either Content Development Team Leads or Academic Managers, e.G. moderating or developing textbook outlines, assisting with training, writing prefaces and blurbs for new textbooks, etc.
Computer skills
- MS Word, Excel and PPT, and Adobe Acrobat
- Internet browser
- Google docs/sheets
- Accounting software package (e.G. Pastel)
Language abilities
- Firm grasp of the English language.
- Produce academic content that is accessible for the RSA target audience.
- Produce academic content appropriate for varying NQF levels.
**Salary**:
R14,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
