**Job Description**:
As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, and efficiency of a company's fleet of vehicles. Your primary focus will be on optimizing vehicle utilization, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing strategies to improve safety and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with drivers, mechanics, suppliers, and other stakeholders to manage the fleet effectively and achieve organizational objectives.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to optimize the utilization and performance of the fleet.
- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles to meet operational requirements and customer demands.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage equipment necessary for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Analyze fleet data, including fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance records, to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and service providers for vehicle purchases, leasing, fuel, and maintenance services.
- Develop and implement driver training programs on safe driving practices, vehicle operation, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of vehicles, facilities, and equipment to ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Monitor and manage fleet operating expenses, including fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and insurance premiums, to optimize budget allocation and control costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in vehicle technology to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations, with a track record of successfully managing a diverse fleet of vehicles.
- 5 years in managerial level
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices, regulatory requirements, and safety standards applicable to fleet operations.
- Familiarity with fleet management software systems, telematics, and GPS tracking technologies for monitoring and managing vehicle fleets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, mechanics, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with mínimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
