**Job Advert Summary**:
To position Rand Water as a partner of choice in Water and Sanitation provision. This will be enhanced by positioning and managing the Rand Water brand as a key player in the Water and Sanitation sector to unlock commercial value. Communicating Rand Water strategy to shareholders, external stakeholders and within the organisation. Undertaking key media engagements and providing opinion pieces on key Water and Sanitation sectoral issues.**
Minimum Requirements**:
- A Postgraduate Qualification (NQF Level 8) or equivalent qualification will serve as an advantage.
- Membership with a recognized professional body or similar recognition in the community of practice (current or eligible for future registration).
- At least 5-8 years’ senior managerial experience in Communications, Marketing and Stakeholder Management. Desirable Qualifications and Experience - An MBA or other Master’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 9 is desirable.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the Water and Sanitation sector will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding in the field of Strategy formulation and implementation.**
Primary Duties**:
- Develop a Business Plan to implement Stakeholder Management Strategy in line with the business goals.
- Directing and managing Communications, Marketing and Stakeholder Relations activities of the organisations.
- Lead a team of professionals with regard to Communications, Marketing and Stakeholder Relations.
- Establishment of Stakeholder Forums.
- Development and implementation of a Socio Economic Development Program (SEDP) to support project implementation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Stakeholder Management Strategy.
- Review and develop Rand Water’s external and internal Communications Strategy periodically to ensure relevance in the ever changing market.
- Formulate Public Relations plans and strategies to enhance and protect Rand Water’s brand and image through various media channels.
- Develop relevant messages to promote Rand Water’s business, values and mission as an industry leader.
- Facilitate preparation of press releases.
- Manage Media Relations, research editorial opportunities and build relationships with key industry media.
- Ensure that web messaging is consistent with overall Rand Water Strategy.
- Ensure messaging is consistent with overall communication objectives of Rand Water.
- Manage Social Media trends and ensure global presence.
- Budget, monitor and control the expenditure of related elements.
- Oversee the budget to implement the Stakeholder Management Programmes.
- Media tracking and providing real-time information to EXCO and Board about issues in the Water and Sanitation sector.
- Clearing of all advertorials, publications and media statements.
- Interface with the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA).**
Knowledge**:
- Minimum Knowledge:
NDP, King Code on Corporate Governance, PFMA.
- Desired Knowledge:
Proven track record of managing Private Public Partnerships, as well as BBBEE Sector Charter(s).
- In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory requirements impacting the Water and Sanitation industry and general government programmes.
- Building strategic partnerships and collaborations.**
