A well-established organization in Booysens is seeking a General &
Operations Manager to join their team. Salary will be discussed in interview.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Have a minimum of 15 years Management experience
- Have a minimum of 15 years manufacturing &
retail industry experience
- Tertiary qualification in Finance/marketing or industry related
- Be computer literate in MS Office &
ERP systems
- Be immediately available
**Key Performance Areas**:
- Ensure finance policy &
procedures are compliedwith in operational branches
- Review monthly operational costs compared to plan, introduce measures if parameters are exceeded
- Ensure Company’s Credit Control Policies are applied and adhered to in operational branches. General Manager must have a close working relationship with credit control department in order to reduce risk
- Approvals in line with Authorisation Matrix - SRN/Credit Notes, Sales Orders, Sales Quotations, Job Cards, Cycle Counts and well as bi-annual official inventory counts. Any other required approvals within limits of approval
- Internal Audit - work closely with Internal Audit department to ensure annual audits are conducted and addressing issues highlighted through the relevant audits
- Oversee daily operations of the business units or organisation
- Review daily/monthly/yearly sales performance of branches to ensure long term goals and objectives are met to ensure sustainability of the company
- Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
- Provide direct management of key functional managers and in the business units the GM is responsible for
- Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports
- Customer relations - important to have a strong relationship with all customers through communicating and regular customer visits
- Ensure overall service delivery and quality of the branch offerings to customers
- Annual setting of branch/department/divisional budgets in conjunction with senior management in order to accomplish overall company objectives
- Performance Management - measure and review such performances with managers against set objectives quarterly and annually
- Recommend locations for new facilities or oversee the remodelling of current facilities
- Plan store layouts and design displays
- Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business
- Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions, coordinating with other department heads as required
- Ensure compliance to relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations within the ambit of the local law
- Ensure company image is maintained by collaborating with managers and staff
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing company’s core values and organisational standards
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ensure proper implementation of company policy and procedures relating to the administration of the relevant business segments
- Work in conjunction and cooperate with all relevant administration departments - head office, inter-company divisions as well as operational branches
- Review product portfolios in order to ensure focus by sales staff and introduce measures to improve product volume
- Investigate and assess new product development plans in conjunction with the Operations and Product Information Manager
- Develop and implement product marketing strategies including advertising campaigns and sales promotions
- Locate, select, and suggest product to procure for resale
- Representing management in purchase negotiations with suppliers - local and foreign
- Cooperate with procurement, production, marketing and engineering to ensure correct inventory/quantity/quality is procured in order to achieve desired results
- Ensure operational branches achieve stock turn objectives set by head office and assist branches in achieving said goals
- Increases management’s effectiveness by assisting with recruiting, selecting, coaching new employees.
- Determine and review staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes
- Required to have knowledge of prevailing Labour Laws and assisting with the Disciplinary Code and Procedures for the company, including but not limited to Chairing of Disciplinary Enquiries, Employee Counselling, attending to Staff complaints, Chairing of Appeal Hearings
- Supporting the development of a healthy internal culture that retains key employees and encourages their professional development
