Our boutique **GUEST HOUSE **is situated on an exclusive 33-hectare grape farm between Wellington and Paarl. The farm hosts a popular wedding venue (currently rented, managed, and operated by a third-party) and the **GUEST HOUSE** with overnight facilities for 22 adults and 8 children. We are currently looking for an energetic **ASSISTANT** to support the **MANAGER** to run to all aspects of the Guest House and Lodge grounds.

- Salary - market/ experience related
- Probation period of 6 months
- Work Schedule - we are at our busiest during weekends, after hours, public holidays and school holidays - only those agreeable to working these hours and happy to work long and irregular hours need apply

- Reports to the Manager
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- You must have a stable track record with contactable references
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Must have own, reliable transport and valid drivers licence
- Must already live in the greater Wellington/Paarl area, or have lived here
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be healthy
- Good all-rounder and keen to get involved in all aspects of the operation - sales/marketing/ housekeeping/ front office/ property management
- Must be able to multitask with good organisational and planning skills, with ability to work well under pressure
- Interest and getting involved in basic maintenance and gardening
- Excellent written and spoken English skills and fluent in Afrikaans
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**
- Previous work experience - preferably in guest house / lodge environment or tertiary qualification in the hospitality industry
- General office administration experience

**TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**
- **
Office Administration/ General**:
Filing
- Banking, petty cash
- Data capturing and financial reconciliations on Excel
- Assisting with office infrastructure i.E. internet, phones
- Running errands
- **
Guest House Operations**:
- Implement operational policies and procedures
- Reservations - handle enquiries, viewings, quotes, confirmations, Nitesbridge and diary
- Reception, check in and check out of guests
- Guest relations and ensure guest satisfaction
- Problem solving and being available in case of emergencies
- Assisting with guest documentation and signage
- Assisting with post departure guest communication
- Assisting with special projects i.E. special occasions
- Assist the Manager with Food and Beverage service

Housekeeping**:
- Implement and ensure guest preparation standards and procedures are met
- Laundry - ensure standards and procedures are met
- Assisting with inventory, stocktaking, stock control and purchasing of in-room and laundry items, amenities, cleaning products
- **
Property Management**:
- Actively participate to ensure standards, policies and procedures are followed to ensure a manicured facility and faultless guesthouse
- Actively support the manager with infrastructure issues ( non-municipal water, generator, septic tanks, refuge removal)
- Actively support the Manager with special projects i.E. redecorating a room or developing a garden feature
- **
Sales &
Marketing**:
- Assist the Manager to research, benchmark, recommend and implement opportunities to grow or better the business
- Assist the manager to update and better website, social media, Instagram, listing sites
