Head Electrician

Job Type:
Fixed Term Contract with a possibility of permanent employment based on performance.
Salary will be discussed in the interview and is based on experience.
Must be able to work in a fast paced and high performing environment.
**Requirements**:
Grade 12 with relevant qualification
Must be Trade Tested - Red Seal
3 years relevant experience in a related role within the food manufacturing/FMCG environment
Proven experience as an Electrician in the food manufacturing or related industry and experience in leading a team
**Responsibilities**:
Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery and equipment in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
Conduct preventative maintenance routines to ensure longevity and efficient operations of electrical systems
Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices and diagnostic equipment
Regularly inspect electrical systems, circuits and equipment to identify potential hazards or malfunctions
Report any electrical problems, safety concerns or potential risks to the Maintenance Manager or relevant personnel
Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Ensure compliance with local and state electrical codes and regulations
Collaborate with other maintenance staff, engineers, and production personnel to ensure seamless operations
Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment
