**Job Purpose**
To grow the Transactional Services franchise by leading the Transactional Banking Sales team, which is tasked with identifying, originating, assessing and developing deal flow through relationships (existing and to be developed) to assist clients in managing their transactional banking requirements, in line with Nedbank Corporate Investment Banking and Nedbank Group’s strategy. The team is responsible to deliver the transactional banking franchise through assessment of client requirements, pricing, legal and credit (as relevant) through the negotiation and execution of transactio
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the team to ensure the Financial metrics are met/exceeded and drive a high-performance culture.
- Ensure growth in transactional banking by driving the team in identifying opportunities that are profitable and meet bank's financial targets.
- Drive Performance by leading, directing and guiding teams in prioritising and executing identified leads and pipelines.
- Focus on innovative client solutions and problem solving by showing initiative, creative thinking and drawing from previous experience.
- Ensure the identification of cross sell into other areas with Nedbank, specifically non-risk based products, is an imperative.
- Enhance credibility of functions by staying abreast of industry initiatives that change on an ongoing basis.
- Provide advice to key business stakeholders by proactively flagging innovative, tactical and strategic issues for discussion and implementation.
- Develop and produce reports to key business stakeholders by assessing and collecting relevant data applicable to business objectives.
- Build and maintain proactive and constructive relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders (Credit, Investment Banking, Property Finance and Client Coverage) through regular engagement and knowledge sharing and through delivery of good quality work outputs.
- Provide leadership to department to drive achievement of operational and strategic objectives by facilitating open discussions, consultation and information sharing
- Engage with leadership teams in other clusters by providing proactive leadership, participation and collaboration in transactional, funding and lending initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders through informal and formal knowledge sharing and feedback.
- Manage performance of staff and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports by implementing performance agreements, ensuring a clear vision, agreeing on goals and objectives, providing regular feedback on performance, recognising and rewarding achievement and take appropriate corrective action where required.
- Maintain a capable high performing team by identifying a talent pool through conducting career conversations and utilising the talent grid principles and developing talent retention programmes (e.G. rotation).
- Build depth of skills and knowledge in the team of managers by sharing knowledge and insight with team members, ensuring mentoring, coaching and day to day activities.
- Improve productivity and reduce costs by improving work processes through offering innovative ideas and input and soliciting input from managers and teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes through developing an understanding of agreed procedures and timeous completion of required compliance training.
- Ensure transformational target are met through consideration of targets during the staff recruitment, retention and training process and utilising suppliers listed on the preferred supplier list for department.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree
- Master’s Degree
Preferred Qualification
- Honours degree (Accounting / Commerce / Engineering) or equivalent.
- MBA / CA (SA) / CFA
