**Purpose of the Position**:
The purpose of this position is to lead the Human Resources department and to create an enabling environment to drive performance and employee engagement across with the company.
Duties will include partnering with business leaders to administer HR policies and plans, providing HR partnering to leadership teams, facilitating the delivery of strategic HR initiatives, as well as functions pertaining to organizational effectiveness and talent management.

**Functional Area**:
Position is based in Pretoria, but the HR Generalist will be responsible for all plants situated in Pretoria, East London and Durban.
**_ Travel between the three plants is therefore a requirement._**

**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the Human Resources department.
- Lead the implementation of all corporate HR initiative and requirements.
- Manpower planning in line with business needs.
- Recruitment &
Selection processes to ensure consistent acquisition and onboarding of excellent talent.
- HR administration, benefits, payroll. Ensure employee and workplace confidentiality.
- Policy implementation, development of clear policies and ensure policy awareness.
- HR Reporting locally and to corporate - accurate, clear and concise reports.
- Support on all aspects of employee relations i.E. IR, resolving conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
- Ensure workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures are handled within the ambits of the law.
- Support and have a hands-on approach with supervisors and management in initiating misconduct and incapacity investigations.
- Managing poor performance, etc.
- Prepare documentation for Bargaining Council, CCMA and/or Labour Court.
- Ensure adherence to the Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) Main Agreement and all other relevant Labour legislation.
- Communicate and deal with all levels of staff and provide sound guidance in respect of HR/IR industry good practice.
- Provide data and prepare weekly and/or monthly management reports.
- Providing HR input in all weekly, monthly and quarterly organizational reviews.
- Carry out necessary administrative duties.
- Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) for the organisation.
- Training, development and coaching of employees.
- Employment Equity Manager for the company to ensure compliance.
- Lead all Employment Equity and Skill Development committee aspects.
- Submit EE reports and update all documentation relating to EE.
- Driving organisational efficiency in different areas
- Delivering key functional change programs.
- Providing support with cultural change
- Improving HR policies and practices
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the position.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Experience leading an HR Department/Team.
- Matric and relevant 3-year Degree/Diploma in HR Management.
- At least 5 years Generalist/HRBP experience in an automotive manufacturing industry.
- Must have good IR experience in supporting leaders with managing discipline, union relations, and dispute resolution.
- Exposure to change management and organisational plans.
- Must be competent in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must have excellent administrative experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of payroll.
