Installation Electrician

Our team has provided power management, backup power, solar energy and metering and generator solutions to our customers in Cape Town and the surrounding areas.
We are currently looking for an** Installation Electrician** with an interest in renewable and sustainable energy.

**Specific duties include, but is not limited to**:
UPS and Backup Power
- Investigate site / premises
- Spec inverter and battery backup solution.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, etc.
- Source quotes and provide costing and proposal to customers.
- Project management of installation.
- Initial setup and configurations of backup solution
- Monitor Faircom UPS sites &
respond to breakdowns
- Maintain schedule for routine servicing of the larger UPS’s
- Arrange for adhoc repairs / upgrades when necessary.
- Oversee all repairs and maintenance.
- Routine UPS site inspections
Technical Support:
- Assist and provide technical electrical support to all entities including Retirement villages, Internet service department, camera surveillance and Managing agent department.
- Support other operational staff.
- Monitor system alerts and respond to any issue.
- Assist with UPS, backup power and solar installations
- Assist with metering installations, faults and replacements
- Transformer and substation monthly inspection and reporting.
- Attend and assist with emergency generator and electrical breakdowns
- Managing subcontractors which includes checking quotes, quality control, work is scheduled and completed in a timeously fashion
- Project management
- Investigate, report and resolve metering irregularities
- Researching and staying up to date with new technology and practises
- Working on online prepaid vending system when necessary
- Assisting with BMS and general queries and problems
**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:
- N6 Electrical Engineering qualification
- Installation Electrician Certification is advantageous
**Experience and Knowledge**:
- Proven experience as an electrician or similar job.
- Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
**Skills and Attributes**
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proven organisational and administration skills
- Able to perform under pressure
- Able to work well within a team and individually
- Deadline driven
- Availability to travel regularly to different sites
**Specific Requirements**
- Wireman’s licence is essential
- PLC(programmable logic control) wiring
- Motor Windings,
- Generator wiring (AVR,Controllers,starters,alternators) etc
- Fault finding
- Infrared testing
- Solid and positive references
- Clear health record
- Clear credit record
- No criminal record
- Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing job

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi-time between 07h00 and 18h00.
With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, Faircape offers a market-related salary from R35 000 Cost to Company per month. The amount offered will be dependent on qualifications, experience and other market-related factors.
