Investment Analyst

MP9 Asset Management is a boutique asset management company based in Durban, South Africa. We focus on global equities across all geographies, with an emphasis on the South African and American markets.
Our investment process is skewed toward a bottom-up fundamental approach, with part of the checklist being sustainable margins, demonstrable competitive advantage, and trading at an asset price that presents a margin of safety. At MP9, we are sector agnostic and complement fundamental analysis with a data-driven approach.
Role Description
Investment Analyst
- In this role, you will be required to assess the investment prospects and feasibility of companies, listed in locally and offshore. In addition to listed equities, we evaluate many over-the-counter traded BEE securities.
What we are looking for
- BCom Finance degree
- 2-3 years experience in finance, preferably asset management and stockbroking.
- Ability to communicate well with peers and clients.
- Financial modelling experience (Proficient in MS Excel)
- Enthusiastic about global markets
- Inquisitive and opinionated
- Independent thinker but team-oriented
