Junior It Database Administrator Sql / Programmer

Junior IT Database Administrator/ Programmer with minimum 2 years of SQL Database experience and is technically sound, skilled and enjoys working on a computer on a daily basis is required for a well established manufacturing company based in Atlantis, Western Cape. The position is office based fulltime, Monday to Friday, normal office hours in Atlantis, WC. The individual ideally would have their own car / valid drivers license in order to get to and from the office on time. The person must be able to understand both Afrikaans &
English languages.
The IT professional will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the company by maintaining a cloud based software program database. The role will also include working on the front end design, functioning and upkeep of the SQL database system. The individual will also be required to demonstrate technical abilities to understand sequence coding. Must be able to take accountability of their deliverables and troubleshoot through technical queries.
**Duties &
Responsibilities**:
- Work on the front end of the software program to design and document the company’s product ranges. Training will be provided regarding the company’s products and the program functionality. If the individual has worked successfully on a design program previously this will not be difficult to achieve.
- Monitor and maintain the database environment
- Ensure that database systems are functioning correctly and meeting the clients requests and needs.
- Creation of macros and formulas to enable certain functionality on the designs. This will not be on the level used by programmers to develop databases or apps. The individual need the technical ability to understand the sequence of the coding.
- AutoCAD will be used to create profiles for all the products to import to the cloud based system.
- Managing installations and upgrades of the cloud based software program in 2024 for the company. The upgrading will involve building the database with new designs from scratch. The junior IT Database Administrator will do all the designs and setups and will therefore be main point of contact with the software company based internationally. This will be an 6-8 months project.
- Carrying out other database administration tasks
- Do regular back up and disaster recovery trials
- Write and update procedures
**Minimum Requirements / Skillset**:
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification
- Relevant IT qualification
- Min 0-2 years IT work experience
- Knowledgeable on cloud based software programs, SQL databases
- Technically minded and enjoy working on computers and trouble shooting

**Salary**:
R25,000.00 - R40,000.00 per month
