Introduction
Our client is a 100% black owned law firm which specialises in all aspects of corporate law, consumer law, regulatory law, employment law and related services for over 12 years. They are currently looking for an Associate with Labour Law litigation experience to based in JHB North.
Purpose of the Role
The successful applicant will be involved in a diverse array of Labour Law matters across a spectrum of private clients in various industries, as well as local government and state-owned entities. This is an opportunity to enhance current skills and gain excellent hands on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting of pleadings, affidavits, notices, opinions and correspondence
Advising and consulting with clients and counsel as wellas appearing at the CCMA, Bargaining Councils, Labour Court, Labour Appeal Court and High Court
Discussing complex legal issues with clients and attorneys
Attending to legal research
Technical knowledge of Labour / Employment Law
Team Player
Self-starter with ambition, adaptability and resilience
Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment without compromising work quality or standards
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Minimum experience &
qualifications required
An LLB or equivalent qualification
An LLM is advantageous
Admission as an Attorney in South Africa
Appearance in the Bargaining Councils, CCMA, Labour Court with appearance at the Labour Appeal Court &
High Court being advantageous
At least 4 - 8 years PQE in Labour Law
At least 4 - 8 years PQE experience in a commercial litigation practice would be an added advantage
