**Principal responsibilities**:
- Drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts - EPC, PPAs, NDAs etc.
- Deal with legal matters such as a letter of demand or any other contractual letters.
- Advise different departments of potential key terms and conditions that may have legal implications - tenders, supplier contracts.
- Facilitating legal matters where external legal is being involved.
- Participate and support procurement processes, evaluation, and advise on procurement and contracting strategies
- Provide input and expert contractual and commercial support in the evaluation of requests for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP) and request for quotation (RFQ)
- Prepare for contract negotiations and renewals and work closely with the commercial lead on such negotiations.
- Advise and assist in the compilation of contract documentation, including:
- Assessing the risks associated with the various options at the contract strategy phase.
- Supporting the compilation of risk profiles after the selection of preferred options
- Analyse contract pre-award, identify risks and provide recommendations.
- Provide input to and facilitate the implementation of processes for contract dispute resolution:
- Communicate with contractors on compensation events, claims and disputes to enable efficient resolution and settlement.
- Coordinate and ensure dispute negotiations are conducted effectively.
- Maintain contracts management documents and records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements in the contractual context.
- Work cross-functionally to support sales, marketing, operations, etc.
- Create a universal naming and filing system for business contracts, SLAs, NDAs, etc.
- Deal with external stakeholders, as needed for and on behalf of the company.
- Contribute to developing company policies and procedures, ensuring legal consistency within the areas in which you operate.
- Support the team in implementing compliance policies and disseminating regulatory information
- Provide regular reports on the status of legal issues being dealt with and ensure that all relevant information regarding legal matters is accurate.
**Academic Qualifications and Certifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in law, LLB or similar

- Specialist experience in working with and coordinating across multiple departments and synthesising information accordingly
- Subject matter expert on key legal trends that impact business and case law
**What Does Success Look Like?**
**By month 3**:
- I will be familiar with software and legal processes
- I will undertake a gap analysis of all legal processes and contracts
- I will have drafted an action plan to start closing the gaps
- I will be familiar with the basic contracts used in SAE (PPA, Lease Agreements, EPC, Installer etc.)
**By month 6**:
- I will implement processes and procedures to review contract clauses and contracts that are documented and traceable.
- I will be assisting sales and other departments with contract negotiations and changes.
- I will be coordinating and updating contractual agreements as required.
- I will advise on risks associated with proposed contract changes and review external agreements before they are signed to advise on potential risks.
**By month 12**:
I can confidently run the legal function and add value to the Company.
