Duties/Pligte
- Providing clinical paediatric care and support to children enrolled in the MIS-C study;
- Assessing children with febrile illnesses and conducting clinical exams;
- Assisting with phlebotomies and other medical procedures, including collection of respiratory samples for virus analysis;
- Working with a multidisciplinary team that includes laboratory and clinical staff;
- Assisting with managing and coordinating the research project, including communicating with the Health Research Ethics committee;
- Ensuring that regulatory requirements, including NIH (US National Institutes of Health) and other network requirements, are adhered to.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- MBChB degree;
- At least three years' working experience in Paediatrics;
- Experience in clinical research;
- An interest in research skills development;
- Sensitivity to cultural differences;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Multilingual skills - proficiency in either isiXhosa or Afrikaans, in addition to English;
- Computer literacyin MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- The ability to doresearch both independently and in a team context;
- The ability to develop and maintain sound work relations among project staff;
- A valid code EB driver's licence.

- Training in good clinical practice (GCP) and other research training.
