Microbiology Analyst

**Job Advert Summary**:
To perform microbiology tasks related to validation and routine microbiology testing procedures in the Microbiology Laboratory.
**Specific Operational Requirements**
- May be required to work overtime to meet the business needs.
- Must be prepared to work shifts/weekends/public holidays when needed.
**Specific SHE Requirements**
- Pre-employment, routine, and exit medicals are compulsory due to the nature of the business.
- Attendance to SHE-related training is mandatory.
- Adherence to SHE Instructions (Waste Segregation, Water and Energy Saving Initiatives)
- Compliance with SHE Site Rules is compulsory.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Relevant science qualification e.G. BSc, B Tech, N Diploma (Microbiology)
- At least 2-3 years’ manufacturing experience;
(preferably 3-4 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical environment)
- 5-6 months microbiology laboratory experience
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Accurate Sampling**
- To perform microbiological analysis, aseptically, on samples following all necessary SOP’s
**Timely Testing and reporting of results**
- To perform routine testing for all samples as per NBI schedule and to report on results in a timely fashion
**Instrument maintenance**
- To conduct routine instrument maintenance cleaning and calibration as per documented SOP’s
**House Keeping**
- To follow the rules of good housekeeping and SHE for the Microbiology Laboratory
**Validation and method validation**
- To conduct validation of microbiological methods and instruments as per validation protocols
**Microbiology Team Assistance**
- To assist with tasks that falls under the Microbiological Sciences umbrella.
