An opportunity has become available for a Nursing Service Manager at our Confidentialirement village within the Southern Suburbs, Cle Du Cap.
The Nursing Services Manager implements and oversees all clinical and nursing processes and care of the healthcare facility with the assistance of RN Shift Leaders who manage the shifts. Further to that, the Nursing Services Manager liaises with the Multidisciplinary Team, medical professionals and families of Confidentialidents. The Nursing Services Manager also plays a pivotal role in the marketing of the facility to ensure full occupancy at all times.

Specific duties include but is not limited to the following:
Staffing and Staff Management
Confidentialort to Senior Management daily via electronic platform
Manage Shift Leaders directly and all other staff indirectly
Ensure full staffing on each shift with specific emphasis on the proper deployment of all staff members.
Oversee and monitor agency and priva---y employed care and nursing staff ensure all procedure are followed take action when needed
Liaise with HR Confidentialarding disciplinary matters and issue warnings when needed
Have Confidentialular (weekly) staff meetings to discuss issues at hand and allow for feedback from all.

Attend Confidentialevant management and clinical education programmes
Address ongoing clinical skills andConfidential needs within the facility with staff and informConfidential Manager
Encourage staff development and ongoing education
IdentifyConfidential needs and oversee the implementation ofConfidential programmes to new and existing staff as per specificConfidential plan
Ensure allConfidential competencies have been completed and ensure all newly appointed staff completes the competency tests
Admissions and Discharges
Oversee the entire admission and discharge process which is managed by the Shift leader and allocation of beds according to availability, diagnosis
Interview prospective Confidentialidents and their families, obtain all Confidentialevant medical Confidentialorts as per company procedure and provide counselling where Confidentialuired
Oversee that all documentation for admission, progress and discharges in sub acute facility (applicable only in facilities where a sub acute license is in place)
Sign off of Confidentialident evaluation form/Confidentialiew and escalate any concerns immedia---y to the Senior Manager Management
Confidentialident and Family Interaction
Have full knowledge and communicate types and levels of services offered within the facility (i. E. Long term and/or subacute) to interested persons enquiring about the facility
Interface with families Confidentialularly and where support, assistance or decision making input is Confidentialuired
Confidentialolve complaints
Develop a professional clinical and caring Confidentialationship with all Confidentialidents Confidentialeiving care
Provide effective education, advice and counselling to the Confidentialident about the matters Confidentialating to the facility, maintenance and/or staff
Be able to discuss with Confidentialidents their individual care plan and aspects of their health, condition and prognosis where possible.
Confidentialer Confidentialident to appropriate medical professional where necessary
Village Confidentialidents and Services Offered
Communicate Confidentialularly with the Village Manager and discuss any issues that may overlap with healthcare
Manage the 6 monthly and annual visits to all village Confidentialidents by the Healthcare Coordinator.
Attend monthly MDT meetings to discuss vulnerable Confidentialidents andimplement action plans
Handover:
Attend and supervise the nursing handover procedure daily as per the policy
Be aware of all Confidentialident information exchanged during handover
Use handover to communicate important notices to staff
Nursing and Care:
Strive to achieve optimal level of care for all Confidentialidents, and ensure staff adhere to scope of practice and best practice Confidentialulations
Implement ethical guidelines and provisions of Confidentialevant legislation in caregiving in the facility
Liaise with Management and Faircape Doctors Confidentialarding any health/medical problems concerning Confidentialidents if their assigned medical practitioner is not suitable.
Inform the Management of any situations concerning Confidentialidents care that Confidentialuires intervention or follow up
Confidentialiew care plans with Shift Leader when necessary
Manage emergency care Confidentialponse procedure
Confidentialer any Confidentialidents Confidentialuiring additional care to the appropriate Confidentialr other facility or medical practitioner involved.
Liaise with on site OT, Dietician and social worker in terms of Confidentialident care where necessary
Monitor nursing/care documentation to maintain high standard of documentation to avoid risk Confidentialulting from poor documentation
Risk Management and Emergencies
Supervise implementation of infection control procedures during any outbreak or suspected infection occurring
Confidentialord and action any health Confidentialated incidents that occur in the healthcare and village and Confidentialort to Claremont office as per company procedure
Attend monthly H&
S meetings and take action as needed
Do H&
S checks on auditor according to procedure
Plan and supervise fire drills and evacuation plans
Be contactable by means of company cell phone and Confidentialpond to emergencies
Inform Legal Department at Claremont office of any possible conflicts and follow up
Implement plans, prepare the facility and be present at all inspections (DOH and DSD)
Administration and Confidentialorting
Prepare Confidentialorts and submissions in line with Confidentialponsibilities such as the weekly Confidentialort to Management
Confidentiald and investigate all incidents and submit to the MDT as finalized
Monitor and approve all Confidentialuisitions via the Healthcare Administrator to Claremont office
Communicate and Confidentialort to support team and Claremont HODs on Confidentialevant matters
Oversee and manage care plans and nursing Confidentialords on the system
Monitor the charting on via spot checks and discuss with Shift Leaders

Qualifications - Confidentialevant nursing qualification as Confidentialistered Nurse, SANC Confidentialistered
Experience

Experience in geriatrics advantageous

Working Hours - Normal working days are to, 07h00 to 17h00 with a 60- Minute lunch break. As the manager of the facility, you are Confidentialuired to be available after hours to tend to emergencies
