**Job Description**:
- Your responsibilities will also include:
- Managing the implementation of clinical programmes and health management systems at a site or complex level.
- Managing implementation of WBHS at a site or small-to-medium size complex.
- Planning and organise the delivery of components of work-based health services.
- Carry line management responsibilities (as required for a particular site).
- Assuming clinical responsibilities for the site or complex.
- Overseeing and approve staffing in line with approved structure/budget (as required).
- Operational Management (Financial and administrative Management) (as required).
- Resource planning and budgeting (as required).
- Site-based clinical programme - implementation, monitoring and evaluation (as required).
- Implementation of (SHE) - health management systems in liaison with the hygiene personnel.
- Monitoring performance standards and outputs.
- Overseeing governance and reporting of WBHS at outsourced facilities (where applicable).
- Driving adherence to clinical governance (training, quality of care &
peer reviews).
- Responding to site or complex cross-function requirements.
- Overseeing the quality of services (at a site or complex level) provided by 3rd parties.
- Overseeing health reporting for the site or complex.
- Utilising analytical ability to develop reports for presentation and discussion with the Senior OMP or Principals in SHE Function.
This role is at the Safety, Health, and Environment department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Senior Occupational Medical Practitioner.
- Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Occupational Medicine
- Registration with Health Professionals Council of South Africa.
- MBChB
- Training in health risk management;
implementation of SHE management systems;
and incident investigation would be advantageous
**Experience**
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- 1 years’ experience in the mining industry
- Clinical programme management experience
- Computer Skills - (MS Office)
- Demonstrated success working as an occupational medical professional in the mining industry;
- Demonstrated success running of clinical programmes;
- Demonstrated experience with occupational and non-occupational disease (HIV, TB, chronic diseases, mental) surveillance and management.
- Good knowledge of occupational disease management programmes.
- Understanding of the South African Workers’ Compensation System and the related administration processes
- Additional Information
- Valid Driver’s license
- Communication skills (written and verbal) and report writing skills
- Ability to speak other languages is an advantage.
- Regular domestic, regional and occasional international travel will be required.
- Working at high altitude may be required.
- Visits to operational mines (both open pit and underground) and processing sites will be required
