Requirements:
Minimum B degree in Engineering with a background in Environmental Management/ Science Required to work autonomously and have a full range of professional knowledge specifically in environmental compliance monitoring, incident management, auditing and environmental management Minimum of eight 8 years
- relevant experience Experience in GIS, modelling tools or similar Proven proficiency in report writing Master-s in Science or higher is preferred Experience in the water and sanitation utilities environment will be an advantage Technical and people management skills Valid Code B driver-s licence Computer skills MS Office.
Key performance areas:
Provide support to the Water and Sanitation Directorate as Environmental Incident Coordinator Conduct a wide range of environmental studies in the broad fields of Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Gather and analyse various data sets example, inland and water quality data, incident data sets, pollution sources, spatial data etc., Oversee and monitor the Directorate-s environmental programmes whichhave been developed and signed off Participate in the planning of large and complex research projects and investigations to obtain information for the design of substantial or complex programs, systems or other specialist initiatives Assist the process of continuous improvement for monitoring and remediation of instances of noncompliance which be detrimental to the environment or result in operational or financial risks to the City Write reports of varying length and complexity to record research and information collection, share information, formulate conclusions and strategies and make reasoned recommendations Coordinate specific processes, associated troubleshooting, and auditing.
