The Organisation requires the services of a Regional Manager:
Socio-Economic Transformation in the Socio-Economic Transformation Department. This position will be based in Arid Region, Upington.

**Requirements**:
- Be in possession of a Degree in Developmental Studies/Environmental Management or equivalent qualification.
- Should have 6 years of work experience in community development.
- Understanding of the SET strategy and programmes
- Understanding of Community Development Framework in line with government imperatives.
- Understanding of SANParks Financial Reporting Framework
- Knowledge of good Corporate Governance practices
- Knowledge of SANParks Risk Framework
- Good knowledge of the conservation, tourism and socio-economic development-related legislation.

**Responsibilities**:
- Contribute towards the development of Socio-Economic Transformation (SET) strategies policies and SOPs.
- Develop implementation guidelines.
- Develop and compile the SET-related lower level plans that inform part of Parks plans.
- Align Parks' lower level plans with SET regional plans.
- Evaluate the integration of SET strategy into park plans.
- Coordinate and guide the implementation of SET strategy and programmes at a regional level.
- Support parks with projects and programmes implementation toolkits/template/protocol.
- Facilitate the provision of capacity-building programmes/initiatives that include internal training, mentoring, coaching for effective implementation.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of SET programmes.
- Identify strategic partnerships, and build and maintain relationships to achieve SET objectives.
- Contribute to the development of MOUs and MOAs.
- Maintain relationships with all strategic partners.
- Represent SANParks in strategic institutions/structures/committees.
- Monitor and evaluate the effective functioning of the strategic partnerships.
- Manage budget, resources and assets assigned and controlled in accordance with the procedures as prescribed by SANParks and/or conditions of funding by external parties.
- Ensure that administration tasks, records and reports are kept up to date and submitted on time.
- Manage the implementation of the SET projects and reporting thereof.
- Provide support to the SET regional officers and park managers
- Develop and coordinate the training programme for SET Officers in consultation with parks management and Senior Manager Capacity building.
