**purpose**:
- Implement operational risk control monitoring plan - with focus on monitoring key controls based on key risks, identified operational risk themes, management needs and agreed combined assurance areas of focus.**experience and qualifications**:
- Appropriate undergraduate degree (e.G. B.Com / Law / Engineering) or Postgraduate qualification or Certification in Risk Management
- 2-3 years Operational Risk Management Experience
- Asset Management and/or Investment experience would be advantageous**additional requirements**:
**responsibilities**:
- Execute on the op risk strategy through tactical actions
- Track and report on progress towards achieving the op risk strategy at defined intervals (i.E. 6 months)
- Proactively identify and anticipate risks (including emerging risks);
- Identify risks associated with critical handovers interdependencies between business areas
- Investigate operational events and perform root cause analysis. Identify possible process/control improvements.
- Work with relevant IT, legal, regulatory, business resilience, fraud, information, physical security risk specialists to ensure comprehensive identification of all key operational risks
- Assist business to identify risks inherent in key business processes, new products, business projects and key outsourced and insourced arrangements and critical third party service providers.
- Assist with risk assessment process
- Implement and adapt FirstRand operational risk frameworks and policies for the business in a practical and effective way.
- Advise on risk mitigation solutions.
- Proactively engage with management on key risks matters.
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- Preparation of committee/board packs
- Documenting minutes and actions of various risk committees, and following up on action completion
- Managing the Deal Conclusion Forum administration
