Sales Specialist - New Business Development
**Location**:
East Rand, Sandton
Our client, a Cape Town based manufacturing company, is seeking to appoint a Sales Specialist that will be responsible for to generating new business in Gauteng.
Requirements:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification.
Minimum of three years fmcg, retail and wholesale experience in a similar role and will have a --trader-- oriented personality and focus for generating sales.
Experience in managing a junior merchandiser or junior salesperson.
Established relationships with buyers and commercial role players in wholesale and retail, that will enhance the prospects of achieving sales strategies and objectives.
Experience with negotiating trade terms and discount structures and therefore high numeracy and spreadsheet skills are a pre-requisite.
Good degree of the understanding of homeware trends and colour palettes which will support project development initiatives and positioning.
Excellent business acumen and the ability to gather market related data and intelligence that will enhance the positioning and expansion of the range visually and commercially.
Exposure to an integrated ERP system will be advantageous.
General Key Performance Areas:
Communication - The role demands the accurate collection and communication of data to and from our commercial partners to ensure the best service delivery and commercial strategies.
Collaborate with internal team members toensure that accurate commercial and logístical outcomes are achieved.
Communicate in a clear and precise way with the emphasis on highlighting issues that affect the performance of the business negatively and positively.
Reporting - The SS is required to report prospective business opportunities as well as market intelligence from the market to support strategic initiatives weekly.
Time Management - The SS is required to manage his/her time effectively by executing a detailed weekly action plan. This role requires a high level of independent time management disciplines and therefore the effective and efficient planning of cycles and routing is paramount for achieving success.
Teamwork - Engage colleagues in a collaborative and supportive way.
Accuracy - Accuracy with the formulation of communication and administrative functions.
