**Accounts Assistant**
Scope and role:
The accounts assistant will be responsible for overseeing the accounts receivables of the company as well as assisting the Financial Manager with month ends.
Job role:
Accounts Receivable Management:
- Overseeing the accounts receivables function within the company, including following up of outstandings, receipting, sending of statements, etc.
- Posting of the sales invoices from the operating system to accounting package
- Capturing of receipts in both operating and accounting packages
- Reconciling the accounts receivables and ensuring that both the accounting and operating system are aligned.
- Accounts receivable reporting (ageing, days outstanding, etc)
- Query resolution on accounts receivable
- Reconciling and maintaining accounts receivable related balance sheet accounts
- Intercompany invoicing and reconciling
General Finance:
- Assisting with bank reconciliations
- Assisting with month end closures
- Adhoc duties as needed in the finance team
Skills required:
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills to ensure meeting deadlines
- Solid accountancy and bookkeeping skills
- Computer literacy, excellent excel skills
- Solid knowledge of Xero
- Knowledge of tourism operating systems (Travelyst preferrable) an advantage
- Solid understanding of financial systems and processes
- The ability to function well in a team, as they need to provide support as needed
- Good communication skills
- 5+ years in accounting, more in accounts receivable an advantage
