Senior Barista

We are looking for an engaging, dedicated, and courteous barista who is enthusiastic about coffee. The incumbent will greet customers, answer questions, orders will be taken, and beverages will be produced and provided. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace while continuing to learn about food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.
Provide customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.
**Responsibilities**:
- Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, juices and mocktails beverages.
- In depth knowledge of espresso based hot beverages
- Dialling in coffee grinder and coffee recipes
- Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils and equipment
- Cleaning service and seating areas
- Assist with ordering, receiving and restocking
- Empty trash, sanitise work areas and utensils at all times (during shift and follow opening and closing checklist)
- Adhering to all food health and safety regulations
Requirements and skills
Trained and qualified Barista (SCA or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years’ work experience (as a barista)
Assisting customers’ on café selection
Contributing and monitoring:
Communicating using company jargon
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Good command of the English language, both verbal and written
Can communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues and customers
Must be able be flexible and multitask to work in high pressured environment
Must be willing to work overtime when operationally required
Take pride in personal appearance and hygiene
Good understanding of basic customer service and hospitality principles
Must be able to perform independently, as well as excel as part of a team
Be driven and willing learn and grow
Be passionate and self-motivated individual, with a love for coffee
Must be willing and able to openly interact with customers
**Salary**:
R30.00 - R40.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town, Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
