Position Purpose:
_**
Generally, reviewing, advising, reporting and giving opinion, recommendation, guidance, support and assistance on legal
Transactions, disputes, matters and risks affecting the business, including those related to disputes, compliance with
Regulatory and other general legal issues, risks and exposures.

Position outputs:
_**
Transnet adheres and complies with all applicable legislation.
- Investigate and respond to regulatory and administrative bodies’ complaints and requests.
- Ensure that there is compliance in all respects with the PAIA, POPIA and other statutes applicable to Transnet and its
Divisions.
- Deal with request for information made in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000)
And Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, 2000 (Act No. 2 of 2000).
- Assist in management and oversight of multi-division risk mitigation programs
- Ensure the business adheres to data privacy and data security legal obligations.
- Prepare, review and negotiate all varieties of legal documents.
- Standardize templates, legal policies and processes where possible to improve efficiency of legal services to business
Units.
- Manage complex, significant matters that cut across legal and related areas.
- Perform such other tasks and projects as may be required from time to time.
**_Qualifications &
Experience:
_**:
- The applicant must have an LLB / B. Proc degree qualification.
- The incumbent is required to be an admitted Attorney or Advocate.
- At least 10-15 years’ post admission experience within a legal environment in a large entity / multi-disciplinary legal
Environment dealing with administrative law matters.
- Requirement of Trust and Honesty in the handling of Finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19
- Legislative Certification/Registration required e.G. Admitted Attorney or Advocate with 10-15 years post Articles or
Pupillage.
