Synopsis A leading organisation is looking for a specialised therapeutic services medical manager to join their team. The main purpose of the role is to provide clinical oversight and management, medical advice and ensure implementation of all medical matters relating to clinical apheresis patients, Specialised Therapeutics Services, clinical staff, and medical doctors managing clinical apheresis patients.
Description
**Responsibilities**:
Design, develop, implement and manage clinical care protocols and systems for clinical apheresis plasma exchange, plasmapheresis, stem cell collection by apheresis, leukocytapheresis, red cell exchange, erthrocytapheresis, extracorporeal photopheresis, granulocyte collections, and customised-research collections for patients requiring specialised therapeutic apheresis treatment as well as for research participants.
- Collaborate with Lead Consultant Cellular Therapies &
Novel Product to develop a business plan for the department aligned with the organisation Mission and Vision, with supporting budget and resource requirements.
Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, strategies and standards to accomplish the Vision and Mission of the organisation, comply with legislative requirements and maintain appropriate quality standards throughout the organisation in general and the department in particular. Facilitate the development and approval of the budget. Monitor budget and ensure targets and deadlines are met. Obtain specialised skills in clinical apheresis procedures. Conduct feasibility studies, monitor trends in patient processes and develop recommendations for continuous patient outcome and department improvement and sustainability. Propose potential projects, obtain approval, implement and monitor the effectiveness thereof. Perform donor suitability assessment, collection clearance assessments and related to support the collections programme. Design appropriate reporting metrics,collect data and submit quarterly reports to Lead Consultant. Collaborate with other Divisions in to synergise integrated outcome.

MBCHB Registration with HPCSA Additional qualification/ 3 years
- experience in the field of haematology, haematopathology, internal medicine, transfusion medicine or related field Current GCP certification would be advantegeous Medical practitioner with 5 years experience in managing hospital in-patients in academic hospital at medical officer / registar level Kindly note that all positions will be filled in accordance with the Company-s Employment Equity plan.
