Supply Chain Manager - Ottery, Cape Town

Our client in Ottery, Cape Town is looking to employ a Supply Chain Manager.
- Is an independent self-starter who uses their initiative to identify cost-effective solutions that deliver customer expectations.
- Has a proven track record of at least three to five years in material resource planning, procurement, and warehousing.
- Supported by a relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain or a related discipline.
- Demonstrates strong systems aptitude and can think on their feet.
- Has at least five years of experience in managing and leading people
- Has excellent interpersonal skills that enable them to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the business and work well as part of a team.
- Has strong negotiation skills demonstrated by their confident manner and assertiveness in challenging suppliers.
- Is goal-oriented and proactive in looking for new and better ways to source and procure Raw Materials.
- Is thorough in following up leads and tenacious in securing competitive advantage.
**Key Deliverables for the role**
- Effectively balances working capital levels with production requirements to optimize cash flow whilst meeting business commitments.
- Proactively seeks new opportunities to save costs on incoming raw materials and packaging.
- Identifies, implements and maintains practical user-friendly systems to assist with demand planning and forecasting requirements.
- Tenaciously follows up on opportunities to improve how we order, store and issue raw materials.
- Operates well as part of a team to deliver customer commitments.
- Provides continuous feedback to the sales team on the efficiency of supply and progress against order requirements.
- Evaluate and report on progress against the plan and provide solutions to problems/ obstacles that may arise.
- Plans and organizes the smooth integration between production and distribution.
- Manages the planning, purchasing, and warehousing functions to ensure on-time and in full delivery of orders.
- Liaises with the Sales Administration Manager to ensure planning aligns with forecasting changes.
- Implements the principles of world-class manufacturing.
