**INTRODUCTION**
Our client in the Freight Logistics is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to join their Operations team.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
- Grade 11 with Maths and Science or relevant experience.
- Code C1 Driver’s License with PDP.
- Track Master’s Diploma.
- Physically and Mentally Fit.
- Protection duties.
- First Aid.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Qualified Track Master.
**Added advantage**:
- Advantage Ultrasonic Testing Certificate.
- Advanced Heavy On-Track machine experience.
- Advantage Mounted truck crane operator certificate C32.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide guidance and supervision to ensure optimal utilization of the track resources in maintaining the permanent way according to the prescribed standards in an affordable manner, thus ensuring a safe and reliable rail network.
- Conduct routine and corrective track maintenance activities on the permanent way to ensure a safe and reliable permanent way that supports business goals.
- Timeously execution of the per way maintenance plan.
- Ensure that the team is transported to the workplace safely and on time.
- Supervise and monitor the work performed by team to ensure work compliance to contract terms, safety and quality standards.
- Supervisor to inspect if the tools &
equipment been used arethe correct tools and in a safe condition to execute the task and returned daily, Supervise team.
- Attend to all necessary administration requirements for the team and other work-related areas.
- Ensure that all processes and procedures related to the safe passage of trains are always adhered to including preventative maintenance, and identifying and repairing all track related defects.
- Obtain authorization/occupation from the Train Control Officer/Rail Control Officer before working on the track to ensure protection standards are correctly set out, to provide feedback of the necessary activities performed on the track and to declare the safety thereof.
- Provide feedback to the Site Manager on the daily progress of the job and to complete site diaries every day.
- Manage the performance of the team and general human resource issues to ensure continuous productivity.
