The successful incumbent will hold a boilermaker trade certificate and 5 years of post-trade testing experience within an engineering workshop environment.

Job description / core competencies:
Read and interpret drawings and sketches to establish required dimensions to be marked on materials and assembled products.
Marking off and cutting materials using the oxyacetylene cutting torch, plasma torch, angle grinders, guillotines, band saws, pipe cutters and other cutting tools and equipment
Develop, mark out, bend, and roll using parallel lines, radial lines, triangulation, and spiral developments
Preparation of materials (pipes and plates) for assembling by rolling, bending, chamfering of weld preps, drilling, and punching
Assembling prepared metal components by manual arc welding and bolting
Fabrication, repair, and maintenance of steel structures
Knowledge and use of most hand tools, portable power tools, pneumatic tools, pipe, and plate bending machines (manual and hydraulic)
Proper and safe use of lifting machinery and equipment

**Job Qualification &
Experience**:
Grade 12 / N3
Boilermaker Trade certificate
Must have 5 years post trade tested experience with Engineering workshop environment experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to solve problems within agreed standards, policies, and procedures
Team leadership and management skills
Sound listening communication skills
Self-motivated self-starter with high levels of initiative
Able to make decisions within agreed parameters
Job planning skills
Valid driver’s license
